I haven't even the slightest clue on that trivia question. I like the new fancy intro, definitely a step in the right direction. A lot of the tips you talked about apply to a straight bowler as well as a hook bowler. I'm not a big fan of the 3-6-9 spare system. Throwing it straight and having set points for your feet and targets for each spares tends to work better. Do any of you actually use the 3-6-9 method?

      Hi Coach 3G,

I personally do not use the 3-6-9 system. I agree with you that you should practice and have set points for feet and target. Throwing the ball straight will mean that you won't have to adjust for lane conditions.

Yes, I'm really a bowling coach. I help coach a youth league and a travel league. I'm registered on the bowlingball.com website as well. Thanks!

It would be great if they would recommend what type of ball they suggest for straight ball bowling.

    • Dustin_S says:

The best type of ball for throwing it straight is a plastic ball. Some of them include Viz-A-Balls, OTB Balls, T-Zones, Ice Storm, Maxim and White Dot. If you throw a straight ball at strikes as well you would get some benefit from throwing a reactive ball because the coverstock is a little bit softer than plastic and will help knock the pins around more. However, any ball will go straight if you throw it straight. :)
