I have a question: do you guys feel that not using finger grips is a good way do reduce the amount of revs you can produce? I bowl for college and my coach was telling me that it would be helpful for me to reduce the amount of revs I generate and I've been exploring some pretty general options to help myself out in that category. I have a mid to low 500 rev rate and throw the ball between 17 and 19 mph generally. If you guys have any tips for taking some hand out of the ball, I would greatly appreciate it! I have a question that I hear a lot more lately… With today's equipment having more elaborate cores and coverstocks, the range of layouts and surface prep is getting to be as daunting as keeping up with all the ball releases.

My question is: "How do you pick the right layout for that new ball you just dropped your hard earned money for?"

Do you guys believe in "The Bowler's Scale"? Rev dominant vs. Balanced vs. Speed dominant, and such. What do you guys rate? And should your ranking on the scale effect your ball choices?
